Need to do an under the sea cake? Let Judi show you some fun fondant designs to use. With a few changes these designs can also be used for beautiful nautical or beachy wedding cakes.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to class to ensure the class starts on time. All registered students receive a 15% discount on all regular priced items for the duration of the class (certain exclusions apply.) Please present your PAID Class registration sheet to use the student discount.

Supplies for Fun Sea Life Cake Designs:

  • Fondant- green , small amounts of white, , yellow/gold, red, black or brown, orange, any color for sea life wrap each color in plastic wrap and place into a Ziplock bag to keep them soft.
  • Tapered spatula
  • Wilton 9” Fondant Roller w/rings
  • Cake decorating tips (#4 and #2A)-used for cutters
  • ¼” cake dowel-one end sharpened-please don’t use a craft dowel they have bug killer on them –not food safe!
  • Fondant tools: ball tools, (5-6 star tool -optional)
  • Cutting mat/board (flat place mat, Wilton practice sheet, etc.)
  • Clear vanilla with small disposable cup & decorating brush or water brush filled with water
  • Cake board: 9x13” and box to fit to take home your pieces
  • Pizza cutter/zigzag cutter-or similar tool for doing smooth cuts in fondant
  • CK Candy molds: 90-12816/90-12817
  • Optional: Strip cutter
  • Optional: 2” round crinkle cutter
  • Optional: herb cutter
  • Teacher will bring: herb cutter, strip cutters, crinkle cutters, Makin’s texture sheets, & PME leaf cutters


Items from your kitchen:

  • Dusting puff : ¼ - ½ c. powdered sugar placed in a clean pair of Knee-high nylons-put one inside the other for strength and tied by knotting the end-cut off top band(Wal-Mart); make at home
  • Plastic wrap
  • Straws assorted sizes
  • Handiwipe/damp paper towels in gallon plastic Ziplock bag
  • Plastic food storage bags-great for keeping tools together
  • Paper towels
  • Toothpicks-round
  • White Crisco- ¼- ½ c. in a closed container
