Learning the Annie Sloan Method with Brenda from Fox Layne at Mangelsen’s Please join us for a creative and playful experience with Annie Sloan’s authentic Chalk Paint®. This workshop is for beginners and curious minds alike who want to be inspired to bring new life into their furnishings and learn reliable Chalk Paint® techniques. Explore with us the unique qualities of authentic Chalk Paint® and discover what sets Annie Sloan apart from other “chalk-like paint” on the market. Share in our passion for the trans-formative power of paint and develop your own craft while learning to play with the Annie Sloan Method. The Annie Sloan Method includes the Smooth Modern Finish, the Textured Effect, and “Annie’s Signature Finish”-the Two Color Distress. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn:
- Paint and distressing techniques
- The nuances of two-toned coloring
- How to create both smooth and textured paint.
- Waxing techniques

Meet the Instructor:
In March of 2021 I returned “home” to Nebraska after living most of my adult life on Long Island, New York and most recently, the far northern tip of Idaho. I carry with me a deep passion for sustainability and utilizing the resources that we already have. I love to restore and bring new life into old, but classic pieces of furniture…thus making them relevant and timeless all over again. I will always be a work in progress and I do not claim to an expert but I find immense joy and fulfillment in honing my craft. Nearly ten years ago I had the opportunity to take intensive class work in the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint with Nancy Jones. Nancy was the owner of Artworks in Spokane, WA and is a master in decorative arts and fine furniture finishes. In the end, it is the hope of being a conduit for inspiration and creativity by empowering one another to mold your own beautiful life.
