3 part class: Sunday’s November 6th, 13th & 20th from 130-430 pm

Knitting with the yarn in one’s left hand is commonly referred to as Continental knitting, German knitting, or European knitting. Unlike English knitting, the yarn is held in the left hand; the motion of bringing the yarn forward with a needle held in the other hand is thus sometimes known as picking.

We will be working on the Beginner’s Stitch Sampler Scarf by Kristina Tucker!

You will learn to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off in this class.

There are multiple sessions to this class.

Supplies Provided:
Circular Knitting Needles
2 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver Yarn – you will get to pick your colors in class!
Tapestry Needles
Pattern
A tape measure.

Meet the instructor: Emmalee GouIette

I grew up in a family of crafters. My mother taught me how to crochet at a young age. I also learned to weave and do cross stitch as a child. In 2016, I taught myself to knit. I continued to learn more techniques and different stitches. The next year I started spinning yarn, learning more about different fibers, how yarn is put together, and creating yarn myself. By 2018 I had started knitting socks in timed competition where socks had to be knitted to pattern specifications and competitors did not know the pattern beforehand. I find knitting soothing, and it is a rare day that I do not knit. Over time I have learned more and more techniques, and I never stop learning.
