Come join Emmalee for an afternoon of Knitting! You will learn to cast on, knit and bind off in this class. Learning to purl will be optional. Knitting with the yarn in one’s left hand is commonly referred to as Continental knitting, German knitting, or European knitting. Unlike English knitting, the yarn is held in the left hand; the motion of bringing the yarn forward with a needle held in the other hand is thus sometimes known as picking.

Supplies included: Knitting Needles, 1 ball of Lily ‘N Cream Scrubby Yarn & Tapestry Needle

*You will get to pick your yarn in class.

Meet the instructor: Emmalee GouIette

I grew up in a family of crafters. My mother taught me how to crochet at a young age. I also learned to weave and do cross stitch as a child. In 2016, I taught myself to knit. I continued to learn more techniques and different stitches. The next year I started spinning yarn, learning more about different fibers, how yarn is put together, and creating yarn myself. By 2018 I had started knitting socks in timed competition where socks had to be knitted to pattern specifications and competitors did not know the pattern beforehand. I find knitting soothing, and it is a rare day that I do not knit. Over time I have learned more and more techniques, and I never stop learning.
